The United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC, also called the FISA Court) is a U.S. federal court established and authorized under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA) to oversee requests for surveillance warrants against foreign spies inside the United States by federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Such requests are made most often by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Congress created FISA and its court as a result of the recommendations by the U.S. Senate's Church Committee.[1]
From its opening in 1978 until 2009, the court was housed on the sixth floor of the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building.[2][3] Since 2009, the court has been relocated to the E. Barrett Prettyman United States Courthouse in Washington, D.C.[2][3]
In 2013, a top-secret order issued by the court, which was later leaked to the media from documents culled by Edward Snowden, required a subsidiary of Verizon to provide a daily, on-going feed of all call detail records—including those for domestic calls—to the NSA.

The Egyptians waited until the Israeli vehicles began to enter the area and then unleashed a barrage of rockets and missiles that they had buried under the sand. They rained fire on the Israelis, immobilizing the majority of the IDF’s armored vehicles. Levi’s half-track was hit by a rocket. He stuck his arms out of the vehicle and aimed his weapon towards the attackers, ready to return fire. An Egyptian anti-tank missile passed by and slashed open Levi’s right arm. With his arm bleeding heavily, Levi ordered his troops to follow him and exit the vehicle.
Levi understood that his force was outnumbered and outgunned but he was not willing to give up. While his arm continued to gush blood, he grabbed a grenade in his left hand and advanced fearlessly on the enemy position. As he approached he ripped out the grenade’s pin with his teeth and then at a distance of ten meters from the enemy he hurled the grenade, taking out their whole position.

Albright defended her original remarks in an interview with TIME earlier this week, saying people need to understand who has been fighting for issues on their behalf and that women are generally judgmental of each other. She said the remarks were taken out of context.
In Thursday’s Democratic debate, Clinton was asked if she agreed with what Albright said.
“She’s been saying that for as long as I’ve known her, which is about 25 years,” Clinton said. “But it doesn’t change my view that we need to empower everyone, women and men, to make the best decisions in their minds that they can make. That’s what I’ve always stood for.”

In Vietnam, citizens were enlisted to post pro-government messages on their personal Facebook pages. The Guatemalan government used hacked and stolen social media accounts to silence dissenting opinions. Ethiopia’s ruling party hired people to influence social media conversations in its favor.
Despite increased efforts by internet platforms like Facebook to combat internet disinformation, the use of the techniques by governments around the world is growing, according to a report released Thursday by researchers at Oxford University. Governments are spreading disinformation to discredit political opponents, bury opposing views and interfere in foreign affairs.
The researchers compiled information from news organizations, civil society groups and governments to create one of the most comprehensive inventories of disinformation practices by governments around the world. They found that the number of countries with political disinformation campaigns more than doubled to 70 in the last two years, with evidence of at least one political party or government entity in each of those countries engaging in social media manipulation.
In addition, Facebook remains the No. 1 social network for disinformation, the report said. Organized propaganda campaigns were found on the platform in 56 countries.
